Pro Epic has a powder coating spray booth and curing oven in-house giving us the capabilities to produce consistent high quality results. Powder coating is a dry powder which does not require a solvent like a typical liquid paint does. The powder coat is applied electrostatically and then cured in an heated space allowing the powder to freely flow and form a fluent/consistent skin that will be much more durable than conventional paint.
The process has three basic steps or stages - prepare the part as you might normally do for liquid paint, apply the powder, and then the curing stage. There are several advantages that powder coating has over liquid applications. For starters the powder coat application emits zero or near zero volatile organic compounds (VOC) so its better for the environment. Since it is a dry powder another advantage is that overspray can be recollected / recycled giving close to 100% utilization of the product.
Powder coating as previously mentioned the process creates a virtual skin that is much thicker than normal paint and do so without running or streaking. Another highly beneficial advantage is the consistency of quality results - you will discover that there are fewer aesthetic differences from one part to the next compared to alternative wet applications.
Additional Finishing Services
In addition to the powder coating process we also are capable of completing other finishing processes including sand-blasting. We have a 14' x 12' x 40' sand-blasting room in-house in addition to several bead blasting cabinets. We also have a similarly sized wet spray room which we utilize for steam cleaning and pressure washing.
